Mohawk Valley is a non-contact adult "A/B" hockey league with players aging from 18 and above. The League consists of players throughout the Capital Region, with playing experience ranging from beginners to ex-Division 1 college players.

The MVHA has 4 teams with 12-15 players on each team. Each team has a 24 game schedule with playoffs at the end of the year and teams play on average 1 to 2 times per week (Monday and Friday nights) with start times varying from 7:00pm to 9:45pm.

The games consist of three 15min stop-time periods. All games have referees and statistics are kept on a regular basis. All games are played at the Frank Messa Rink located on the Union College campus in Schenectady, NY (see arena page).
